In my search for some good wings in the area, I was led to the Asian Wings Café located in New Carrollton. It's connected to a hotel (it has changed names so many times I can't remember the current name) and next to the IHOP, Hair Braiding shop and Taqueria Reyes. I know right, one heck of a combination on one strip! It's right off of 495 and is easily visible from Annapolis Road. This little diamond in the rough really knows how to pack a lot of flavor in their dishes! This restaurant is a bit different because it offers Chinese and Thai options on the menu. Daily specials are available and you can even order items for catering your events. Check out their menu for a full list of the details. After checking out their menu I decided to get what else....but some wings! I ordered the 8 piece honey wings with a side of fried rice and an order of Drunken Noodles with Shrimp. Apparently the Drunken Noodles are usually rather spicy, so I asked if they could tone the spice down to a minimum. I decided to call my order in so I wouldn't have to wait once I got there. I spoke to a very friendly staff member that made sure my order was correct. AWC delivers (not sure of the distance), you can dine in (only saw 4 or 5 small tables) or you can carry-out. I arrived and it reminded me of a slightly upgraded carry-out that I'm used too. The staff called out my name when I got there, because apparently I look like a Rae or perhaps it's because I was the only one that called in my order, either way, I didn't have to wait and I was appreciative of that! I got home, cracked open a cold one and dived into my wings. The wings were really good! As a matter of fact, some of the best wings I've had out in a while. They were light and crispy with an excellent flavor. Don't think you're going to get those wings on steroids here, because they sell the normal size wingettes here. The fried rice was light, fluffy and included peas and carrots. It wasn't greasy at all. Even the drunken noodles were fabulous. Good thing I asked them to tone the heat down, because the noodles were still a bit spicy. I'm actually rather surprised by this place. I've driven by AWC many times and I never gave it a second glance, but something drew me to it over the weekend and my taste buds are happy that it did! I'll be back to try some of the other flavor chicken wings they have to offer.

Pleasantly surprised! Ordered a large lunch delivery to our office - working in New Carrollton typically presents quite a challenge when you want something different and tasty for lunch. I ordered the shrimp pad thai (a little stingy with the shrimp but the flavor was great) and had a few wings and garlic fries..both delish!!! Other dishes the group ordered looked good - pad see ew and lo mein. We spent close to $100 so the order was pretty large, arrived within the hour and didn't need reheating. Give them a try.

My mom and I stopped here on a random evening while in the area. It was one of those nights where cooking dinner seemed like the ultimate task and we were not feeling it. On the outside it looks like the typical "wing" carry out. However, when I saw "Pad Thai" and "Drunken Noodles" I almost lost my "stuff". I just wouldn't expect Thai food in this particular area. Nonetheless I decided on the Shrimp drunken noodles, and my mom opted for the Crispy Chicken Basil. I have never ordered Thai to go so I was anxious to try it right there in the darn place. Plus, I wanted to make sure before reaching my home, 30 minutes away, that I was satisfied. The drunken noodles were great. Not super duper delicious but I'd return. My mom's chicken basil, was indeed, spicy and crispy, as I could smell it through the container. The guy at the desk offered me a tray when he saw I was going to indulge right there. At least the place was clean enough that I felt comfortable to eat inside!! That's a super plus!! My only (very small) complaint is that when I asked the young lady for a large half and half/Thai tea, she returned TEN minutes later. I mean...maybe she squeezed the lemons and crushed the herbs in the back, who cares!! But the tea was good as well. Needless to say, the meal barely made it home! I'd return if in the area again. Next time, I'll try the wings, since that's what everyone raves about!

Cons first: raw and more raw deep fried pork ribs! They most likely were frozen when thrown in the dryer! Sell wings no wet wipes creating an extremely stick effect on all surfaces!!! Wings were great lots of sauce choices sooooo sticky and garlic fries very tasty!

I saw a review of this place by bestie, Rae M. and because I sincerely respect her opinion, I thought, I would give this place a try. My first time trying them out was a Saturday afternoon and when I tried to call a order in, the line was busy. Either way, I ventured on over and placed my order. This location is right off the beltway exit. Its in a small strip that is attached to a hotel. This location is sandwiched in between a Manny and Olga's as well as a braid shop. Upon entry, I noticed the decor is a hodge podge of Asian flair as well as the finest cliche carryout signs. You know, the ones over top of the register with the pictures of the food on plates with pretty carved roses made of tomatoes, you know, those. Well, on to the food! Those wings are the best. Very tender and extremely flavorful. I order the mild honey wings as well as the fried rice. It was a daily special for about $8. The fried rice was very fresh as well. I enjoyed every morsel of that food. Needless to say, I have been twice. And I plan on going back. My Guy loves wings, So he enjoyed them as well!

Dammit Jim! I should've known when I saw the pictures of "fried rice" with peas and carrots. Anybody with a lick of culinary dignity knows that authentic fried rice is NOT - NOT I SAY - made this way. But I went against my better judgement because I really wanted some Thai food and couldn't be bothered going the extra mile to Mom's Thai in Upper Marlboro. They've gotten way too wiley with their hours (even now closing on Saturdays - what the blankety blank is that about Moms???) and I didn't want to wait until after 5pm to eat. Anyways, since I was headed in that direction I thought I'd give this Asian Wings place a shot. I'd seen it many times and was curious. I'm not even going to rate the decor or location or any of that because it wouldn't be worth my time. I'll just some up my dish (Drunken Noodles with Chicken) in one word: Grrrrrroooossss! I am very liberal when it comes to rating local mom and pops because I understand running a small business is a lot of work. However, when the food is not only disgusting but overpriced, I have no problem giving a business the business. Although it was spicy, the noodles were extremely greasy and nasty. The chicken was remarkably disgusting and I kept trying to figure out why it tasted so weird. It had a sort of cooked-twice taste to it, like it was stale. Even the basil tasted old! How TF can you have old tasting basil?? Well, it so happens that while I was in there so was a County food inspector (I assume) who told the cashier, among other things: "you're refrigerator isn't cold enough," "when you cook the chicken the first time it needs to be at least 165 degrees" and so forth. She also mentioned some other minor violations that were not food related. Along with my Stinkin Noodles I also ordered a large Thai Tea which was the only thing I liked. But for $16 I could've had a V8! What a waste of my money. It's clear this is NOT the place to go if you want anything Thai related because they obviously don't know that a main component of good Thai food is fresh ingredients. Will I go back to try these damn delicious wings I see Yelpers raving about? Fool me once ...

This place has become a weekly staple at my house. The service is always amazing, the food is piping hot and delicious. Definitely recommend the wings with the Honey BBQ sauce and garlic fries and the Drunken Noodles.
(5)Aurélie E.
I like going here I always get honey bbq wings with fried rice and Thai ice tea It's usually good but sometimes the wings taste a little drier than other times And last time when I came late my rice was dark like burnt as if they cooked it with a lot of burnt residue was still on the pan or grill
(3)Kim C.
This is definitely one of our local spots, Just Go! One issue though, there phone is either busy (which is probably a good sign) or you can barely hear them when they do answer. Either way, the food is worth it! We always get the same order...10 wings w/Asian chili sauce, an order of chicken Pad Thai and an order of pineapple fried rice. Haven't disappointed us yet!
(4)Reggie B.
Soon as you come in you're greeted and since this was my first time here the guy at the counter walked me through the menu and the wing favors. I ordered the 6 piece with fried rice and a drink for $9. Not bad but could have been a little less. But that's what they have the specials for ...that end at 4pm. The honey mild is perfect mixture of sweet and just a little bite...not too spicy. The fried rice could be better not the best fried rice I've tasted. That's why it gets 4 stars.
(4)Alexis B.
Decided to get my mom some chicken and rice and per previous yelpers the spicy honey bbq was the way to go...she really enjoyed the chicken and not so much the rice .I will be back here again
(4)Lewis A.
When I first ordered delivery I had gotten the fried rice based off the reviews and yes I agree the rice is awesome..on the other hand the Asian Thai glazed wings were excellent as well..so I decided the next day to go up there and order..to come to find out they had thai pad was something I been craving..so I was also impressed with what I had each time..must try when hungry and close or passing by..

I don't have much to say about Asian Wings Cafe, except for HONEY WINGS AND GARLIC FRIES ALL. DAMN. DAY. The food from this place is unique--at least in our area--and freakin' delicious. A.W.C.A.D.D. -- That stands for Asian Wings Cafe All Damn Day. Out.
(5)Frances T.
Wow... Hands down best wings I have ever eaten before in my life! So crispy, hot, juicy, and a perfect amount of kick - honey BBQ spicy wings were the MOVEEEE. Not exactly the best environment to dine in- was kind of dinky. But the combination of wings with fried rice with shrimp is ingenious. Got a huge bang for my buck ( 10 large wings and abundant fried rice for $13 only!)

So before I could even get my food wanted to wall out because the lady was very rude and charge me more than what the menu advertise in the store and online. I would not be back even if the food is good. I work in customer service and she was beyond rude and didn't even say come again or anything like that. I can't believe someone would treat a CUSTOMER like that. I deal with rude customers all the time so I am extra polite no matter what and I started to be rude back.

This is a sleeper in the neighborhood. I'm always ordering the Thai menu and so far so good. I love the crispy chicken basil. It's got just the right touch of spice and crispy.
(4)Tonee S.
Went today and I promise I'll will be coming back more often. I ordered their signature Asian wings and fried rice. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. Not greasy by any means. The menu, which is Thai inspired, looks intriguing, and I'll return to try other items.

I don't know what took me so long to try Asian Wings Cafe. I've driven by them plenty of times and I even looked them up on Yelp before just to see how the reveiws were. But boy am I happy I finally ventured in there! Asian Wings Cafe sells a variety of Asian delights but their main staple is chicken wings...of course, lol. The wings are fried crispy, golden brown to perfection and you even get to choose from more that a dozen sauces that you can have your wings coated in. I opted for the honey mild and garlic honey wings and an order of garlic fries. Now waiting for your food to cook is no fast process by any means, especially when you are cooking chicken wings to crispy perfection, and people should understand that. Plus not to mention it seems to be only one lady working in the kitchen cooking everything and one guy taking the orders who I don't think speaks much english, but anyways just expect to wait for your food and it's well worth it. And your food is piping hot when you get it. The honey garlic wings drenched in honey with flecks of garlic floating around was so finger-licking good, though the garlic flavor was fairly mild. And the garlic fries tossed in that garlicky salt were quite tasty and definitely complimented their wings well. I ended up at Asian Wings Cafe two nights in a row, thats how good I thought the wings were. Now, like I said before, the preparation of the food is kinda slow, so me personally this is not a place that I would chose to have deliver to my house because who knows when your food will get there. But definitely hop yourself in your car and take a drive down to Asian Wings Cafe. *I did have a thai iced tea but I never got a chance to taste it because I spilled it all over my kitchen floor...goodness, lol!
(4)Tiffany T.
I love the honey BBQ hot wings and the garlic fries. Check out the lunch specials. The crispy basil chicken was great. I;m going to try more items on the menu. The guys at my job order from here at least once a week.
(4)Courtney D.
I was really rooting for this place. A wing house that also serves a few rice and noodle dishes. I ordered the pad Thai and spring rolls. Meh on both. They say there are as many recipes as there asre cooks in Thailand. This cook was definatly from Thailand, there was an alter, the place is very cute and clean. Buttt it was only ok. I think there was catsup in the sauce. I soo wanted it to be great. The spring rolls were just cole slaw and a little too small and crunchy. I think I cut the roof of my mouth. The sign says wing cafe. Maybe I need to just try those. And the garlic fries~That idea intrigues me.

Stopped here while driving through the area. Food was really good, much better than what we expected. Crab Rangoons were especially delicious!

I ate here last night and I was pretty impressed. I wouldn't normally go into a place called Asian Wing Cafe (what does that mean, really?), but I was in the area and wanted something different and tasty. The decor was nice, better than most Asian takeout places that I've been. The staff was friendly and helpful and tried to answer any questions I had. Their menu is a little odd, at least for what I'm used to, and leans more towards Thai food than anything else. They serve some noodle dishes, they have Asian coleslaw, and garlic fries. And of course, they serve wings. I decided to have the 10 piece wings with the hot garlic sauce. It was fantastic. I am a little puzzled by the review given by Kevin, as his description of the hot garlic wings was nothing like mine (I've had enough cheap sweet and sour sauce to know what's good). I've never tasted anything like this before, and I've eaten thousands of meals in restaurants all around the world. I would guess that the sauce did not come out of a box, or if it did, they modified it. The wings were smaller than the ones you may get at other restaurants (in other words, they were normal size wings). I could tell from first bite that they were marinated. These wings were some of the best I've every had at any restaurant, and equally as good as my award winning, critically acclaimed wings. The chicken was perfectly fried, juicy, and not greasy at all, which tells me that they know what their doing back in the kitchen. I had the chicken fried rice as a side and it was the best fried rice I've had at a carryout restaurant. It was moist, flavorful and not greasy. The chicken was tender and juicy. This fried rice could easily be served in a more expensive restaurant without anyone batting an eye. It actually reminds me of the fried rice from Sushi Siam on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, which is really, really good. I ruined it a little bit by adding some soy sauce, but this is actually good enough to stand on it's own. I had the fresh squeezed lemonade and it was phenomenal, although really, really, sweet. The owner tried really hard to make sure I was happy, almost too hard. But she was friendly enough. This isn't your typical Asian take out place, where the food tastes like it came from the same factory (which in most cases, it does). The folks here really know how to cook, not just prepare and serve food. They have a unique thing going on here, and I will be back again to try some other things to see if it was just a one-hit wonder. As far as J.C. is concerned, he/she only leaves 1-star reviews. Seems like a troublemaker to me. I'll go back next time I'm staying at the hotel here, but I have a feeling that I will be craving these wings soon. Maybe the wife and kids will take a road trip. :D

This place is great!! The food is amazing! I live about 10 minutes away and I'm excited to have a place with good food this close. We got the Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Fried Rice and wings. It was SO good!! Among all the Chinese take out places, it's refreshing to have a Thai place nearby. I would highly recommend it. It's a little gem in PG county.

Please check out my profile for more info. I recently stumbled across this place and was pleasantly surprised by the level of cooking and authenticity of the Thai dishes. I did not expect this at all especially in a carryout eatery with a few tables. I started with the Thai Spring Rolls appetizer. It arrived at the table piping hot along with some complementary Garlic Fries, which the owner claims are very popular here. The spring rolls are sheets of thin crispy dough (thank God, not the thick nasty egg roll skin) covering a tasty stuffing of carrots, cabbage, and bean thread noodle. These nearly greaseless batonettes, served with its usual accompanying sweet sauce, were as good as those I have tasted in larger Thai restaurants. The garlic fries had the similar skillful treatment in the hot oil, and they were covered with specks of chopped garlic and parsley, which elevated them beyond their usual guise. A good start indeed. I decided to try the fried wings that the cafe is known for. These small chicken wings, not the Buffalo-sized ones, had a light coating of batter and were fried golden-brown. One bite into them immediately raised my eyebrows. The chicken was crispy on the exterior yet moist in the inside, well-seasoned throughout, and had only a hint of grease to the touch. The Drunken Noodles were filled with strips of green and red peppers, chunks of chicken, and leaves of fresh aromatic Thai basil peeking through sheets of wide rice noodles. Signs of high heat wok searing were evident on the noodles which added to its flavor profile. The dish had the right heat-intensity (peht) and good amount of garlic, with the noodles well-coated with the salty and slightly sweet brown sauce without any evidence of oil pooling on the plate. This dish was as good as I have eaten in bigger establishments, and I was smiling after a few mouthfuls - I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Pad Thai arrived with the noodles cooked with slivers of roast pork, bits of scrambled eggs, large pieces of pungent green onions, topped with a mound of fresh crunchy beansprouts, and crowned with huge sweet shrimp that were just perfectly cooked and not rubbery at all. The noodles had the right amount of the sweet and sour sauce with pieces of sweet pickled turnip (usually missing in other restaurant versions) which added that crunchy sweet salty element that made the dish successful. The sides of crushed peanut and slice of lime on the plate allow the diner to control these extra textural and flavor elements. I must admit that this was one of the best plates of Pad Thai I have eaten in a long time, and I cannot wait to order it on the next visit. The noodles in the Lo Mein were quite fresh and still al dente, mixed in with tender pieces of chicken and shrimp, crispy and barely cooked broccoli, cabbage, snow peas, and carrots, straw mushrooms, covered in a light tasty sauce that was not thickened like others. I have not enjoyed Lo Mein as much as I did with this order, and it is definitely worth considering in future visits. The Fried Banana Dessert was greaseless from the kitchen's usual skillful hot oil frying, and topped with honey and fragrant sesame seeds. These small sweet bites were just the perfect and quite a surprisingly good dessert to end the meal. I am going to be a regular at this place for its wonderful cooking. Hope you guys will get to try this place out. To read rest of review and view photos, check out my blog at Wongeats.

This place is fantastic! Great wings, great Thai food, and great service. Couldn't ask for anything more. We will be back many times!

The fact is that PG county is a culinary wasteland. I was happy to see a independently owned place like this pop up that boasted chicken wings served fresh and not frozen that deviates a bit from the typical wing place. I really wanted to like this place - I was salivating at the opportunity to try some wings and give this place it's first good review. I soon found out that despite it's deceiving youthful and clean look these wing's are def not better than yours and for sure will not bring the boys to the yard. Decor- The place was very clean inside and looks quite nice actually, it tries to look youthful and fresh with a semi industrial look ( similar to Duclaw or KC BBQ). There were 4 tables inside and 2 tables on the outside. Ambiance - Well the place was empty during lunch so it was a lonely meal. There was a horrible music station of 90's bad hiphop playing through the worse boxy sounding speaker ever.Bring headphones or someone you can talk to so you don't have to listen to this. Mostly appeals to lunch breaks and casual lunches. Service - counter lady was nice and told me about the deals and brought my food out. Food - Well unfortunately, no matter how hard I tried to like this place I found the wings to be not "fresh" and the sauce (Garlic hot) tasted like industrialized processed sweet and sour sauce that tasted as if it came from a cardboard box. If you ordered spicy wings from any cheap Chinese carry(Kenny sub's rings to mind) out your experience won't differ much with these wings. If those wing's were fresh then they were ruined by that nasty "sauce" that was slabbed on these wings - I almost felt sad for the chickens that were slaughtered for this disappointing meal. The only saving grace was the garlic fries which were half of the entire plate, I could only eat half of these fries. I would just salt these fries a bit but the real buttery garlic pieces and parsley pieces def were a nice touch. Misc- you get an extra half star because you have a recycling bin for bottles which I never find at any food establishment. Why were there no napkins on the table's? This is a chicken wing place- it's safe to assume things could get messy. Maybe I got the worst sauce one can get here but still please scrap that sauce and make your own sauce or buy it from another supplier. I know I haven't tried any thing else here and they did offer a decent amount of Asian food that I didn't try so you're on your own with that. I will come back here if other real reviews(unlike the 2 filtered reviews below) say that the Asian food was otherwise because like I said, we are starving for more independent businesses here!
(2)J D.
Can I just say...GARLIC FRIES???!!!??? Ok, let's be real here- we're talking about cut up potatoes, deep fried in grease and then served up with fresh chopped garlic- FRESH. They could've just gone with a sprinkle of powdered garlic, but they went with fresh...and I am so glad they did! I do believe that the fries were the best part of the meal, which my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed by the way. My wife ordered the sweet chili wings with Asian coleslaw, I got the Asian mild w/garlic fries- think buffalo w/an Asian twist and you're on it- we both agreed that the Asian mild was the way to go- a little bit of heat, not too much. Of course the garlic fries were awesome- think I may have mentioned that once or twice already, if so, please bear with me...they are that good. If I hadn't been hot on the trail of a hidden Mongolian spot, I would've returned the very next day for round two. I'm the type of person who appreciates good service- it is something I remember come tip time when that's applicable. They don't do tips here as far as I know, but good service is good service. They are currently in the middle of remodeling their restaurant- boxes and boxes of new tiling were being dropped off by the owner I'm assuming, it looks like a little family-run establishment. When we got there at 11:15am, the place didn't really look open, in fact, the sign said 'Closed' but I said to my wife "on yelp it says they're open at 11am on Sundays" so I went closer and pushed on the door- and it opened! The young woman behind the counter, looking just the slightest bit harried, welcomed us in and apologized for the state of the restaurant, explained that she'd just gotten back from Lowe's with new tile, awaiting more (and awaiting help to start up) - if we would just give her a moment. We're not pushy, we were happy to wait. In retrospect, I am damn glad we did! It seems we weren't the only ones w/wings on the mind...a young couple, late teens, came in after us- sometimes I think youth is wasted on the young, but these two seemed to be genuine. My wife and I could only smile as we too recalled our early dating days. But I digress... As it stands, it seems we have been remiss in sussing out the various wing joints- this is the third new-to-me one I've heard of in the last few days- we'll be coming back here. I want to try some of the other dishes they have, I just really had a hankering for their wings and wanted to see what those garlic fries were about. YUMMO!!!
(3)Sheila s.
I am the type of person that doesn't judge a book by its cover, and after visiting Asian Wings Cafe I'm glad I didn't judge! Service: very nice! Once I went in 10 minutes before they closed, I was assuming when I opened the door that an employee would tell me "we are closing right now" but when I asked if it was too late to place an order the cook in the back said "No! come in!" They did end up staying open a little later due to my order, which I apologized about, all the employees seemed fine with it, no bad looks or attitudes. Food: Now clearly they have wings but they also have some basic carry-out Asian dishes( such as lo-mien) and they also have some Thai dishes as well. I am not the type of person who would pick wings as a first choice for eating out, but if I was with someone who wanted to try out Asian Wings Cafe, I wouldn't complain. The sauce amount used for the wings are just right, not too saucy not too little. The wings themselves are actually cooked, yes! its not just a chewy mess like at Buffalo Wild Wings. The garlic fries are awesome! no need for ketchup. I tried the Asian coleslaw once, it wasn't really appealing to me. Their Thai iced tea is a little too sweet for me but it is still pretty good. If you are willing to let go of the idea that fancy decor means good food, then give Asian Wings Cafe a shot!

We just finished our mail from Asian Wings Cafe. I do have to agree with the other reviewer that said PG county is a "culinary wasteland" and I couldn't agree more. That being said, this place wasn't half bad. We ordered shrimp pad thai, chicken fried rice, mozzarella sticks, and since the order was over $20 we got free garlic fries. The pad thai wasn't the greatest ever, but not bad. The fried rice was actually pretty good. Very light. The mozzarella sticks were yummy, and the fries were decent. Now, this place isn't GREAT. However, since its fairly close to our house and we haven't found ANY asian food that is even halfway decent, we'll go back for sure. Also, the place was clean inside, nicely decorated, and the staff was friendly.

Better off going to buffalo wild wings
(2)J. C.
This place had such bad food, I felt forced to write a review. There's nothing asian about this place other than the restaurant name and dishes loosely styled and named after asian foods. The Pad Thai was so vinegary, it was hard to eat. The Asian Hot wings (not the same as Asian Chili) tasted off like tabasco with vietnamese chili paste. The tables at this place are sticky, not just a little but where your arm sticks when you rest it on the table. The only thing good was the cashier was nice.

I tasted the wings here before as a lunch special and I was impressed. It was great!!!
